iVolunteer – Frontend Prototype

Alina Trawöger, Praktikum Master 2019. Ein GUI-Prototyp für iVolunteer.

Introduction: iVolunteer is an application that should unify the communication and collaboration between volunteers and volunteer’s organizations like Red Cross. In this project, the viewpoint of the volunteer
is taken into account. This prototype should visualize the front-end of an iVolunteer-user account with all its functions based on some sample data.
Organizations can upload job o ers (“Tasks”) to which volunteers can assign if they are interested.
Volunteers can browse through a task list, lter for several criteria tting their needs, sort them by date or relevance and view the descriptions of each task. They can view who also assigned to a speci c task and write a message to that person as well.
Additionally, the volunteers have a proper overview about their competencies and where they want to drive it to. They can see their current level and what they need to do to reach their manually set goal.
Considering the importance of social media platforms these days, iVolunteer also offers a social media component which allows a user to form a friends network and stay in contact with acquaintances.
The application should serve as a motivator for the volunteers to actually assign to voluntary tasks. Gami cation elements and encouragements should increase this motivation.
Which components the prototype actually needs was researched based on other Human Resource programs, which will be addressed in section 2. Then, mockups were drawn both by hand and with a tool. Afterwards, a short introduction to the used programming languages and frameworks
follows. Then, the actual screenshots of the prototype are attached. In the end, there is a short conclusion.
